The end of an era

As those of you who are friends on Facebook and others who share emails with me know, I've been packing to move. Yes, I did finally sell my property (owner finance) to someone who loved JD like a son. She shared his love of country and "farming" far better than I.
I've found a house I want and am suffering through the search for financing with credit that is only fair. Sis has just decided to co-buy my house and we're making a new loan ap with her great credit and my so-so credit. Hoping to hear today or tomorrow that we finally got the loan.
I'll be paying it off within two years as my buyer will be coming into more money sometime in the next two years. Waiting is miserable.
Last night I got word that my Dad who had dementia and was 100% pacemaker dependent passed in his sleep. Just two weeks earlier we'd gotten him into the nursing home. That was a nightmare of trying to care for him when his wife collapsed. He was just too confused and restless for anyone to care for him at home any longer. At least now his pain and confusion are over.
It is hard to grasp his passing as there will be no direct way to say good-bye. No service of any kind is planned. Maddie can't afford it. He will be cremated, as was his wish, and his ashes will go to the cemetery in Yukon. Guess I'll have to go there next trip to the area to say my good-byes.
So much sadness is mixed with the excitement of moving back close to my brother and sister..
I'm ready to create some more good memories with them. Good memories are a huge comfort.
